Julie Anne Smith, A.K.A. Julianne Moore is a remarkable Hollywood author and actress whose talents have earned the attention of critics and acclaim. Sagittarius. Born in North Carolina December 3, 1960. She's the eldest of three siblings born in the home of Peter Moore Smith, a paratrooper, and Anne a psychologist. She's English, Scottish and of mixed heritage. Moore's father moved around a lot because of his work. It was difficult for her to make and keep friendships. When her family moved to Germany Moore went to Frankfurt American High School where she began appearing in performances. She graduated in 1983 with a Master of Fine Arts degree from Boston University. A thesis on Theater. Her career in theater began in New York with Off-Broadway Theater immediately following graduating. She first appeared in the episode The Edge of Night, that aired on TV in 1985. The following year, she took on two roles as Frannie and Sabrina Hughes in As the World Turns, which was her first break. This show lasted until 1988 and won the Daytime Emmy Award. The film she made her debut in 1990 when she starred in Tales from the Darkside: The Movie that she described later as an awful low-budget film. Short Cuts, both produced by Robert Altman (1993), and 3 Women, also productions from Altman (1997) were among her films. The actress received a number of nominations, and was praised for the initial film. Moore was offered her first role as a lead in Safe (1995). Steven Spielberg, who was the director for Jurassic Park: The Lost World in 1997 and one of the year's highest grossing movies, cast Moore as the lead actress. In 1999 she starred in the critically-acclaimed Magnolia and received a SAG Award nomination in recognition of her work. She was in co-starring roles with Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep as well as others for The Hours, which was repeatedly nominated for Academy Awards. Moore was also featured in The Forgotten 2004, Freedomland, Shelter and Shelter 2010. Non-Stop aired in 2014. Moore has been in many productions and films. The most recent role she has played is in When You Finish Saving the World (2022). In Hollywood as well, she has made herself a writer for kids. She released her first book Freckleface Strawberry (2007) and became an N.Y.T. bestseller. The book was later adapted into an animated TV show and musical. Her book of 2013 entitled My Mom is A Foreigner was also a best-seller. Moore is a successful writer and actress. Her personal life, thus, is in the domain of public record. She was a bridesmaid to John Robin from 1984 until 1995. Bart Freundlich, whom Moore then married in 2003 has two children with her. Moore's world revolves around her friends, career and family.
